Are you a fan?

You get that glowy-tingly-hottie-flashy-click-right-into-place feeling when you know something you made turned out just a little nicer than you hoped it might.

It’s not a “I think” thing… it is a “I feel” thing.

When it turns out that little nicer than you thought it would you can’t really explain The Why because mostly the why part makes little to no real sense.

Maybe because a little nicer than you hoped it might be, level creativity happens somewhere far beyond the point where things need to make sense?

And so… flower buddies, I have far beyond the point of exciting, far nicer than even I hoped it would be news!

This week is the official launch of my brand-new-custom-designed floral craftsmanship learning platform. To celebrate we are kicking off with a free resource to personalize your learning experience: a Favourite list (it is private, just for you) to search for, add and manage all your favourite floral craftsmanship design inspiration.

To get started click on the person icon in the green line... top right. Choose your password and you are good to go.

Let’s search for this week's supporting Tutorial: “Drying Hydrangeas” together. It sure is a fan favourite! I added the Tutorial in 2012 (I know, right!?!) after I realized that if we craft with hydrangeas that were dried in different ways in one design it not only adds much needed vibrancy to a dried flower object but also gives us next level creative options.

So, see the "search” magnifying glass icon top right on my website? That is where you can now refine your inspiration to personalize your search.

And just like that you have access to all the design Tutorials you might need using this technique!

Struggling with brittle dried foliage? I do have a Tutorial to fix that. Want to give the dried flowers longer stems? Uh huh… the Tutorial is already there. Your dried flowers curled a bit too much and you want to reset them flat? Yes! there’s a Tutorial for that as well. Wondering what else you can make with your leftover dried Hydrangeas… Yup! there it is. Click on the “Save to Favourites” heart next to your favourites to add what will be useful to your personal Favourite list page.

Want even more design options? Let's say you are thinking this fan design is almost exactly what you wanted… but… maybe it might be too fragile for what you have in mind though and maybe you would like to use faux botanicals instead but… without it looking sad or tacky? Try typing “faux botanicals that won't look sad or tacky” and Yes! there is a Tutorial for that as well!

Neat, right? I can honestly say… when it comes to personalizing my inspiration… you know I certainly am a fan!

But of course Searching for and adding your Favourites to your personal list is just the first tiny bud showing its creative potential on a much, much larger flowering branch that is unfurling into our learning platform. Can't wait to show you more!

Every week I add a new design with related tutorials. Be sure to subscribe to receive an email notification with design inspiration.
