To stand firm and draw a strong line
- 30 September 2026
- and more
Dear Editor,
Surely you must have noticed,
that it is once again that time of the year when the landscape cross that dubious line from chlorophyll‑green into such unabashedly flamboyant carotenoid yellows and anthocyanin reds.. and oversized raindrops that splitter splatter...
that I, as a card carrying member of the Good Taste Police,
must (also) yet again file my usual formal complaint.
If indeed it is allowed to cross the line and wear such outrageously bright colours out in the rain…
and if indeed it is legally permissible for an entire season to be this outrageously overdressed, then I must, dear Editor, I daresay it is my self-appointed duty to stand firm and draw a strong line of my own.
Because… you see… … well… because quite frankly this whole rainy streaky blotchy thing is quite adorable. And I like it... a lot!
(... and it is just sooooo pretty)
I must then complain, dear Editor, because it would seem like there are SOME people who remain inexplicably unalarmed as if this is somehow… yet another end of September and this Autumn rain is just yet another rainy season!?!
This can not be permitted to go on any longer.
Yours faithfully,
Ms. Concernedabout Thislackof Enchantment
