The last day of the year has a way of taking stock, and this year it brings fourteen years of The My Creative Workbook floral Designs and Tutorials with it.

As we found ourselves looking through the pictures you shared, it got us reflecting on where my design ideas have landed, in my book, of course, of which I am so happy how it has turned out and how you have welcomed it,

and also how my work is shared by design schools and trainers across the world,

how it has inspired the most talented designers in our industry to refine their own skills through experimentation,

how the techniques were given a signature twist to go on and win awards in shows,

became treasured, deeply personal moments shared nature crafting with loved ones,

transformed how we design with natural materials that helps us avoid wasteful practices in our homes,

…and as quiet observations that inspired artistry lit on festive tables.

Fourteen years on, it feels less like a road-marker of time and more than ever like an ongoing floral collaboration: a long conversation shared with supportive and creative floral craftsmen who’ve kept me inspired on my own floral journey as I continue to master my craft.

This year has been marked by... challenges (creative and just all round). Here in my design room, we’ve been busy transitioning my, what turned out to be absolutely ginormous, website to give you better access to a more personalized way of finding the inspiration you need all the while being held up by the constancy of sharing my original design ideas every week, always in the hope that what I share brings a smile, makes the world just that little bit more beautiful, sparks creativity, and is a quiet pause every Wednesday morning.

After a short reset during the Christmas break I open the doors to my newly decorated design room this week, to pick up my cleaned and polished tools, condition fresh flowers to reveal their creative potential to craft new pieces that shows how we as floral designers can compliment natural beauty rather than consume it, and once again lean into that rare luxury of working until I can say "this is the best I can share with you this week..."

Thank you for joining me on my creative floral journey this past year as I enter what points to a rather epic chapter 15 of the My Creative Workbook next year.

I hope the coming year brings continuous inspiration, renewed creative energy, and many, many gorgeous floral designs.

Happy 2026, flower buddies!
