Rudolph the red nosed reindeer... the seed cone and twig version

On your forest stroll pick up two seed cones one small and one slightly larger.
Cut four twigs at a sharp angle on one end.
Use a small drop of hot glue to secure the sharp end of the twig into the cone for the first leg.
Glue in the second cone next to that.
And the last two legs to make sure the reindeer stands firmly.
Book readers turn to page 372 for a bit more information about adding critters into a design. For more information about my book:

Glue a twig into the small seed cone.
Now for the fun part... add some personality to your reindeer. It is all in how you position the head. Is he looking up at something... bells maybe? Is he tilting his head to listen to something? Is he stopping to smell the flowers? A critter or animal is a great way to enhance your story.
Fit the reindeer head cone to the reindeer body cone... to get the position of the antlers.
Once you know how the head will tilt and fit onto the body glue in the antlers.
Glue on Rudolph's very shiny red nosed reindeer and sprinkle on some artificial snow...
... to dress him up for Christmas.
If you are unsure of how to add artificial snow look at the Tutorial below for more detailed instructions.
I also have a tip for you this week in our email on how I use this glue technique to vary the amount of reflectiveness and give it a muted look but only in some places. I send out a tip email every Wednesday morning (Vancouver time) with something that I found interesting and wanted to share with you in more detail. Feel free to reply to the email if you have questions or comments... or to say hi. The sign up is below this post.
