Tiny wreath to balance a water tube… with a twist

Slip a water tube through a tiny wreath...

... So that it leans firmly at an angle.

If you are unsure of how to weave a tiny wreath see the detailed Tutorial below.

Test the stability by pouring water into the tube to make sure it will not collapse. I found it easier to test the tube on a flat surface.

Once you are confident it is easy to balance it again on your display surface.

I am using an upturned vase as my display surface.

To make extra sure the vase is secure, glue it in place with the tiniest drop of hot glue.

Gather a small bunch of lily grass...

Roll the cut ends tightly around a bamboo skewer...

Slip the bunch of rolled grass into the opening of the glass water tube.

And adjust the cut ends in the water tube with the skewer so that it kicks in place to spill out and the opening in a pretty way.

Curl the tips of the grass so that they twirl around where you are adding the flowers.

This week in our email I tell you a bit more about curling the grasses. You have to be both delicate and firm to get it just right! I send out an email every Wednesday morning (Vancouver time) the moment the new design is ready for you to view. And I add a bit of something that I notice while making the design for you to make the most of each week's inspiration. You can sign up for the email below this post.

When you have the grass just right slip the delicate bleeding heart flower stem into the water tube.

And to finish my design I add a few dew drop crystals.

See the Tutorial below for more detailed instructions on how... and why I add the crystals with a corsage pin.

Every week I add a new design with related tutorials. Be sure to subscribe to receive an email notification with design inspiration.
