What I love most about flowers is that no matter what way you are naturally wired, there is an excellent “you” kind of reason for you to love flowers. They calm us, they smell good, they are lovely to touch… and still even if none of that is particularly your thing… there is a tiny little flicker that tells you, on an evolutionary level, that there is growth and beauty and something is doing okay when you see a flower way over there. It connects us with nature.
And! I would not be even one bit over dramatic in saying that they have their own lore.
Yes, even the humblest of flowers, if you are curious enough to ask.
This cosmos flower here?
Not just a “background story” oh no, no, no an entire “lore”!
Cosmos flowers symbolize harmony, balance, peace, and innocence.
The name "cosmos" comes from the Greek word "kosmos," meaning "order"
… or "a harmonious arrangement," reflecting the flower's symmetrical and orderly appearance.
… you know, a bobbing its head growing in any old soil by the side of the road…cosmos.
Every flower has a story to tell. I do love flowers. I love listening to them, interpreting them and sharing them.
