Wire and bend Equisetum

Slip a straight wire through the length of equisetum. Work gently not to pierce the stem. Slowly bend the stem and wire to curve or shape as required.

Press the wire ends gently into the wax to keep in place.
The equisetum stems are hollow making it easy to connect one stem to another to make a longer stem. Cut the connection piece just above the node, cut the next section just below the node and lip the one section into the other.
