Bend the wire in the shape of an Alice band.
Fold the florist tape over the sharp edge...
And wrap to secure. The heat from your finger tips melt the wax in the florist tape (gutta-percha tape)and will make in bond
Wrap the wire.
Overlap the tape as you go along.
When you reach the other end overlap the tape again to cover any sharp edges and work the tape over itself before pinching the tape to secure it with the heat of your fingers
Wire headband ready for some floral details
Design note:
Hook the headband over something to keep it steady and upright while you design.
Make sure no sharp wires protrude. Either cut the wire ends short and bend the wires back into the design, away from the wearer's head, or better yet, stitch or glue a thin ribbon over the exposed wires to neatly finish the design.
