Mud Pie baskets

I made these for my Mud demonstration. The demonstration was on my birthday and I served Mud-pies to the members at the club.

Mud Floral Art Demonstration

The baskets are made from plastic cupcake holders.

The lids became the lower baskets and the cups the taller ones. The handles are packaging straps that I glued with a hot glue gun.

Lightly dust the bowl of the baskets either red or wheat spray paint. Then I glued strips of burgundy or cream tissue paper around each handle with wood glue.

Wrap the mud pie baskets

Wrap the bowl of the basket with strips of ripped flax.

Next I decorated each basket. Add a generous length of ribbon, some coloured beads, wire and a butterfly woven from palm leaves.

Insert a paper cupcake cup into each basket before adding a slice of Mud pie.
Some additional baskets were decorated with Cape Gooseberry pods and others with butterfly nets.
