This week’s inspiration is splotchy raindrops. Obviously I am loving the first rainy days of autumn. How can we NOT be inspired!?!

My design note for you is a tiny touch. Those make the biggest differences, right? This is what sets your design apart. Those “did not have to… but wow… I can see that you did” details.

I could have cut away the tendrils in the vases but I wanted to transform two bud vases into pillars. They give our design stability but they also give us a thoughtful pause.

Arrange the tendrils in the vases. Not to control them but rather to make it deliberately part of the design. This is not a coincidental detail: this was always part of the plan. It is arranged. And now you no longer wonder if this whole thing is going to fall apart but rather you wonder why or how this thing is not falling apart. You flipped from dysregulated to being curious instead.

The tendrils have been through quite an ordeal being pushed through the “log” and need extra care. When arranging something underwater, reach in with a soft bristle brush. The delicate brussels push the vine to exactly where you want it without displacing the water or damaging the plant material.
