On my online workbook this week: This way we connect
Dear
This week's inspiration is a slow reveal.
This coming March is my book The #EffortlessFloralCraftsman 's first birthday and to celebrate I am so excited to tell you that I have something really special coming up...
I have been invited to represent Canada in the International Floral Art Exhibit at Canada Blooms Flower Show in Toronto (The international class will be held between Friday, March13 and Tuesday, March 17, 2020) and I will split the celebration activities between in person (at the show) and online here on the My Creative Workbook website, Instagram and my Newsletter. Make sure you follow and are signed up and if you know of anyone who are interested in designing with flowers please let them know so that they join us in time for the celebration. Here’s a link to some of what you can look forward to: The Effortless Floral Craftsman Book is celebrating it’s first birthday in March!
My tip for you this week is to look for ways to add subtle detail, especially in minimal designs- everything counts! Notice in the close up picture above that I curled the grass "upside down" with the smooth top side facing away? This subtle detail turns the smooth, shiny grass into a visually stronger design element (lined with textured veins) that holds it's own against the patterned orchid and the graphic shape of the weave. Your eyes pick up on these little details. It makes all the difference.
Enjoy!
Every good wish,
Christine
