On my online workbook this week: Step It Up

Dear

This week's inspiration is part of my definition of fun: working on getting better at creating something that I feel is worth my time and effort.

My tip for you this week is when you make floral tapestries to resist the temptation to nestle the flowers making them lean into a direction. Of course do so if leaning into a direction is your design idea… but for general covering of flat surfaces place the flowers facing upright. Yes, this creates a thicker design but you will not run into an awkward problem at a twist or end of your design surface where you now need to squash a flower head facing down or bruised into a corner. Instead the end flower should gently fill the space as if it grew that way.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine

ps: This is the 600th design that I am posting to the My Creative Workbook website. 600!

Step up the flip-flop design by decorating it with some long lasting succulent flowers. It might look delicate... but these flowers are robust and long lasting.

Have a look at my all new behind the scenes/how did it come about/how did I think of writing that The Effortless Floral Craftsman book page - now with your reviews. Thank you Tatjana (... and if your review is not yet there I would love to add it)

You can use the template for the ballet slippers to guide you while making the coiled sandals. Here is a link if you want to download your copy of the FREE booklet with 17 of my most popular design templates that I have used here on My Creative Workbook. Some of the templates were also used to create something pretty in my book but all the Tutorials are here on My Creative Workbook for you to start designing even if you do not have a copy of the book... yet.
