On my online workbook this week: Seeing a Diamond in the Stuff

This week's inspiration is… is... seeing potential.

Oh yes... sometimes "flaws" can make something feel extra special, don't you agree? That little skew petal or the neck of a flower that is twisted this way when every other flower in the bunch is twisting that way. So pretty!

My tip for you is to make sure your design looks pretty from all sides. I like the look of the back of cymbidium orchids. And rather than treating them as something to conceal I want to give them a moment to shine. There is such an understated elegance in the curve of the stem. I positioned the flowers in such a way that you can see this stem as the design spins. As a bonus… the green of the stem tones down the yellow of the orchids and ties the entire colour scheme neatly together. A true diamond in the rough!
