On my online workbook this week: Peekaboo
Dear
This week's inspiration is bursting with excitement.
It's always exciting to see a new batch of the craftsmanship edition books heading out from my design room to yours, all signed and gift wrapped. I love that these books are so special. That this edition is only for those people who appreciate special attention to details. You see, these craftsmanship edition books were never intended for the mass market... and soon you too will be able to say: yes! I have one of the now-oh-so-rare partially handcrafted copies of the #EffortlessFloralCraftsman books.
I will forever be proud of how this edition of the book turned out. How it opens flat on my design table so that I can design from it at a glance and how durable the stitched binding is. It is the edition I use daily in my design room.
As designers we know the value of quality craftsmanship, but as you know this kind of old world quality craftsmanship takes time to produce. It is just not realistic for the specialist binders to manufacture these books in the numbers required by retailers in order to offer you free and fast shipping. Only a limited amount of these collectors quality books are for sale in my web-shop and we have reached the final stage where it is now being phased out to be replaced by the highest quality, print on demand, Hardcover books already sold by retailers. If you have your heart set on a signed craftsmanship edition copy of the The effortless floral craftsman, a floral crafter’s guide to crafting with nature please order yours today.
My design tip for you this week is how to add the exact height to a design that is meant to look a bit wild and untamed. Because I am leaving the edges wild and messy for this design I alternated my blades to point this way... then that way. It ensures that you can get the exact height you need by simply snipping the harder stem end part of the grass that points straight up to the required height and then going back and manipulating the more floppy tip part to soften it up to a more right on trend loose curl without compromising on the overall feel of the design.
Enjoy!
Every good wish,
Christine
