On my online workbook this week: Hot air balloon

Dear

This week's inspiration is … desperately looking for signs of autumn.

My tip for you this week is about maintaining the design. It will last for weeks!

Keep track of where the knotted stem is anchored so that you can adjust it as the design matures. I found that after about a week my design looked slightly lopsided but simply threading the anchor stem back deeper into the design fixed that.

But be careful when you adjust the grass. If the grass folds it will add a kink that is very difficult to remove. You can try to message the grass to soften it but it will ruin the gentle curve of the balloon. If grass folds pull it out from the top and replace the blade by slipping a fresh stem (using the firmer, cut side of the grass to guide it) from the top of the bundle through the knots.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
