On my online workbook this week: Even More

Dear

This week's inspiration is … a pretty surprise that developed after all.

My tip for you is all about those delicate vine tips. Do not thread the delicate vine with the tip first. It snaps off so easily, spoiling the entire “this grew like that” look you are trying to achieve. Instead bend the vine over just below the tip, and just above the stem. Hold the stem up… it will flop over just there where it is strong enough to bend without snapping. Fold the vine over and press the curve through the hole in the armature. Hook the vine with a bamboo skewer (see the picture above) and pull the tip safely through.

And lastly, one of my design rules that I set for myself for my website is not to use any tools and equipment that you don’t already have or can easily find (see snippet below for my design rules for all the designs I share here on the My Creative Workbook website) but sometimes I discover something new that is too good to not share..

I am so happy that you enjoyed the little spinning design video of last week, thank you for all the kind comments. I found it on Amazon. It's called a product photography turntable but I use it more often as a quick final 360 degree inspection turntable for my designs. Pop the design on, step back and have a good look from all angles, from a fresh perspective. You will immediately see if you have to make adjustments! This turntable uses electricity or batteries and can easily fit into even a tiny tool bag so you can take it with you on location.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine

Even More

This orchid developed at the very end of a long stem... right as the rest of the flowers started to die back so I made a special armature to display the cut stem.

Snippets...

Before adding a new design on the My Creative Workbook website it must tick *ALL* of these boxes:

✔Be inline with my personal values and design philosophy.

✔Be original. These are all my ideas. I want to show you something new and unique every week.

No special tools, vases, equipment or design space required to make these designs.

✔Must fit all budgets so that you can create along every week with the BEST quality flowers... and even try again if something goes wrong- and master each technique.

✔Easy to find. Made from plant material that can easily be bought, grown or ethically foraged.

✔Be educational. There must be something you can learn each week. And it must definitely work. All the designs are within industry standards and based on floral design practices and even comply to worldwide floral art competition rules.

✔My online space is a safe and positive respite. It is a trigger free environment, by design

I design with this in mind. My values are part of my process.
