On my online workbook this week: Aerial Odyssey
Dear
This week's inspiration is on a planet of it's own.
Wow... what a week!
oh yes, I am one of life's natural hermits. I really am. My factory setting is basically self-isolation. Part of my normal self care routine is to remind myself to stay connected and at least sometimes go somewhere.
... and when it was my time to shine as a champion social distancer... I found myself at one of those "force myself to actually go somewhere sometimes somewheres"
We were about 7 (of 10) hours into staging our designs at the Canada Blooms Flower Show (in Toronto) when the health assessment went from Low Risk to first Closed For Public Viewing and a few hours later Cancelled.
Though we were on high alert already we immediately stepped it up and took every precaution possible under the circumstances. And made our way home.
I truly feel all we can do now is to hunker down, wait it out, care for one another, make something pretty to share with each other (no, seriously... when you make something pretty please share it with me) and assess the situation as it unfolds.
We all have a less than ideal story to tell right now... and my heart goes out to you if you are struggling.
In the meantime I will keep posting my flowery things for you to enjoy.
Stay strong, stay healthy and stay home.
Enjoy!
Every good wish,
Christine
ps: My tip for you this week is about the interweaving part of my design. The drop that drips into the glass vase splashes onto the plant material so glue is not really an all over option. Even floral glue can release when soaked in water. If you look carefully you will see that I knotted the grass (I will add a video in a few days so that you can get a better look) onto the steel frame. This creates a sturdy base for you to then go in and weave the grass. And then after that every blade that gets interwoven in makes it easier to interweave the next blade. Just keep going!
