On my online workbook this week: A Very Merry… all elf pass into Santa’s workshop, department for checking it twice

Dear

This week's inspiration is … glowing with gratitude. Thank you for following along and joining in and all the wonderful connections. This is our 700th email! I would not have come this far without your support, which really is a testament of our shared creative journey, and I can't help but be inspired by this glowing feeling of gratitude. Thank you, flower buddies.

My tip for you this week is about gluing a twig to follow an exaggerated curve. To begin with, first shape the twig into the curve so that you are sure it will not snap or break and is hydrated enough to be shaped as you require it for the design. It might even need to be soaked in hot water first, depending. Then if you see that the twig is pliable enough start to glue it in. The trick is to hold the twig at both ends of where you glue it. I use clips to help me keep the design details in place. A butterfly clip (see the picture above) if it is lightweight and I am concerned that it might get damaged or a binder clip if I am concerned that it might need to be held more firmly.

Glue a section. Clip it and then clip the section ahead of where you plan to glue next. And move the clips along as you go so that both sides, in front and behind, are already in place where you plan to glue. This way your hands are free to fine tune and adjust and (of course) glue.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
