On my online workbook this week: ‘Twas and is designing a feeling that really Crafts a special Christmas
Dear
My inspiration this week is about designing a Christmas that feels right… to you.
This week I wanted to give you a closer look at where to cut the Silver bush stems from the main branch to give you the most natural “I grew this way” placement into the Christmas tree structure.
Carefully look into the silver bush to identify the ideal branches to use in the design. You want longer side branches that sweep out of the main branch. Cut the stem with a bit of this main branch attached (see the pictures above) so that you can glue the firmer main stem into the armature. Turn the branch upside down. The side branches will now have a natural tilt that sweeps outwards and downwards (without looking droopy and tight) like a Christmas tree.
Add a line of glue right down the side of the main branch so that it is firmly secured into the twig armature. The silver bush will dry this way with barely any noticeable change in colour.
Enjoy!
Every good wish,
Christine
