Dear

This week's inspiration is chocolate. Three drops of chocolate to be more precise.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Trend Alert

Last year the rosette shaped Echeveria (well, all succulents really) became the superstar addition to arrangements, the year before it was Tillandsia (or any of the air plants) this year seems poised to be the year of dramatic and dark foliage. And even though it’s still early in the year it looks like the beautiful Alocasia 'Polly' is the front runner to be crowned superstar of 2012.

Small space gardeners have triggered the vertical gardening trend. Yes, wall gardens and trellises are nothing new but this re-invention takes the garden indoors. The planter is box framed, as you would a painting, with plants (moss or ferns or air plants or succulents) growing in a decorative pattern filling the frame creating a living wall. Floral designers are picking up on this trend with updated and unique versions of vertical arrangements with growing plants being incorporated in the large designs that are placed as room dividers to create more intimate spaces in large function halls.
