On my online workbook this week: The Wiggle Is Part Of The Plan

Dear

This week's inspiration is keeping your flowers hydrated and happy in the summer heat.

My tip for you this week is one that might seem counterintuitive but absolutely go ahead and choose those stems to latch together that are not perfectly straight. Stems with curves and sticking-out-bits and even a twist gives you more wiggle room to create your design. You have more design options when it comes to placing your floral details because all these imperfections now give you perfect little spaces of all sizes to slip your flowers in and through so that the stems are held perfectly in place. You can even use those exaggerated “imperfection” that sticks out a bit to support heavy design details like the strawberries.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine

Design note: because no, I will not remember. I need to write it down! Can you maybe help me remember what this white (see the snippet picture) orchid is called in this week's design? I did not remember to write the name down. It looks like a cymbidium but it is not. It is happily growing in the only bit of dappled shade I have outside here on my balcony in the Pacific Northwest.
