On my online workbook this week: Mother Nature’s little magic to let us know Autumn is near
Dear
This week's inspiration is the subtle but oh so magical signs of Autumn.
My tip for you this week is to use a tweezer to adjust the height if your Kenzan so that all the teeth are below the waterline.
When you use putty to secure the Kenzan roll it into a sausages and then into a doughnut... but in shallow containers like this it is really important that you make sure the thickness of the putty is the same all the way around so that the Kenzan is secured and level. Place the Kenzan (to follow what I am saying have a look at the beginning of this video: Freestyle Freesia and twist it to secure. Fill the container with water and look at the waterline from all angles. Grasp the teeth of the Kenzan with your tweezer and hold the container firmly in place with your other hand to lift or press down between the teeth (see picture above) to lower it slightly. The adjustments will be slight but just enough to make sure that your plant material remains hydrated- see the picture below.
Enjoy!
Every good wish,
Christine
