On my online workbook this week: Maybe Still Maybe

Dear

This week's inspiration is … something left to look forward to.

Question: Did you want to reach in and add a “something” to this design?

You see, part of my definition of happiness is to always have something to look forward to. Enjoy the now, yes… but have a small (or big) something to look forward to.

That was my goal with this design. I wanted you to look at it and feel there’s something here to look forward to. Something to come. To create a bit of tension as a contrast to the peacefulness of the design. I curled the leaves so that it looks like it is still unfurling… about to reveal something. The same with the placement of the flowers. I placed them in such a way that it looks like they will fill the space beautifully… when… maybe when they open up a little more in a few hours? Or maybe when another bud joins them sprouting from the thick snow? It’s that maybe.

I wanted you to look at the design and add your bit.

My tip for you today is to gradually curl the leaves. Roll the edge, then roll it gently back and forth between your fingers before releasing it. Then work your way in circles, around the leaves, and around the design, building up the curl so that it gradually happens instead of bruising the leaf by curling it too much too soon. Then go back in and secure a few of the curls by gluing them in an almost unfurled roll. Not all of it… but if you curl a few strategically placed edges it curves the leaf and you can actually help the slight curl next to it stay in place.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
