On my online workbook this week: Just... the Most

Dear

This week's inspiration is water... for me summer designing is all about water... lots and lots of water. In glass vases. Refreshing our spaces with nature.

Slipping a twig over the edge of a vase can be rather difficult because you want the slit to remain just open enough. Not so wide open that it won't remain in place when the vine offers resistance and not so closed that you can’t slip it over the edge of the container. Or even worse… keep it from splitting all the way down and ripping the twig in two.

My tip for you this week is to use a bamboo skewer (or toothpick) as a spacer. See the pictures above. It neatly fits into the slit and keeps the gap open for you to position it over the edge of the container. Remove the bamboo skewer once in position and the twig will pinch into place.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
