On my online workbook this week: Inside my world

Dear

This week's inspiration is Fall treasures appearing... everywhere!

Use mature lanterns for this design so that they keep their shape once you cut it open.

You can even hang a stem upside down overnight to slightly dry the husk or papery pod around the berry. Open the end where the husk closes up with a bamboo skewer to make it easier to insert the next pod stem. The entire design hangs from this stem so it is tempting to want to glue it in there “real good”. But adding more floral glue is actually counterproductive. It somehow sets differently the more glue you add. My advice is to add the smallest amount possible to the stem. Fit it into the husk opening and let it set for a few seconds. Then add a second drop, this time from the opening that you made to design it down onto where the stem touches the pod. This creates a double bond and but still remains impossible fragile looking.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
