On my online workbook this week: I tip my (flower) cap!

This week's inspiration is respecting the tipping point.

My tip for you this week is all about keeping the top heavy design from tipping… add a longer stem into the vase (the heavier the topper the longer the stem) so that it is anchored. And in the case of the inevitable short stem you get from cutting an orchid spike? Add a vine (or three) or any other longer stem (even a twig pegged through the leaf hole that extends into the vase but is not seen in the top design) will do the trick so that the design can be kept from tipping.

And then…

On the book front things are... complicated. In many places it is sold out but reprinting. At the same time some of the larger online retailers are importing books and increasing the price. My book should sell for about CA$104 and I have seen sellers listing it for CA$140-CA170! If you had your heart set on a book this Christmas and were as disappointed as I am about the price- I am so, so sorry. I was not notified nor do I profit from this price increase.

For now, please shop around. When I last checked Walmart, Waterstones and Barnes & Noble were still selling the book at the correct price. The Kindle edition is also unaffected and still sells for roughly half the book price (CA$54). You can download it (to read on any device with the free Kindle app) from Amazon.

… but also because we are not hanging out (in person at least) right now and I can’t sign books- if you want a signed copy or if you are struggling to find my book in your local independent shop you can reply to this email to pre order a copy (at the special price I usually offer to people who meet me at events of CA$100 plus postage) of the craftsmanship edition so that I can sign, giftwrap and mail to you. I already have a small stack of these gorgeous handcrafted books ready to go... so don’t delay!
