On my online workbook this week: Hang in there!

Dear

This week's inspiration is invisible support.

Having my website has introduced me to a form of invisible support that I have come to see as the thing that actually makes the world go round.

It's all about those people who speak up for you when you are not around.

People who support your efforts without you ever even knowing. People who call people out for not crediting your work in a behind the scenes kind of way. People who are inspired by your work and then credits you when they benefit and even profits from your efforts without really, really 'having to'. People who say thank you by paying it forward. People who answer your call to action. People you have never actually met and whose (often anonymous) kindness you can never really repay.

Yes you, you know that I am talking about you... you are amazing!

My tip for you today is about the placement of the wire support I crafted for this design. Because of the heavy tulip head it needs to be high enough so that the flower won’t tip over as it grows but low enough so that the delicate stem is developed enough to not snap. The perfect place for the wire support is just right there behind the highest leaf on the tulip stem.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine

Snippets...

Oh man... this is one of those things that I just absolutely LOVE. A tree harp. Matti Palonen is a musician from Toronto, Canada. He plays a tree harp. And a few other instruments... but... a tree harp, people. A harp he made in the hollow of an old tree... in a forest. A tree harp.

... and also... before I forget to mention... again. When I do my designs I stop to take picture every single step. And for this I make sure my hands are at least somewhat clean. But we all know floral designing is messy business.

Floral designers know all about washing our hands. A Lot.

I thought I would just share with you my go-to-lifesaver hand cream: Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Fragrance Free Hand Cream it is amazing stuff. Non greasy and just a bit goes a long way.

How about you?

How are you? Are you making something lovely and flowery... I would love to see!

Please write me an e-mail to let me know.
