On my online workbook this week: Getting the Band Back Together Again

Dear

This week's inspiration is getting going again.

Have a look at the rose flower stem. You will notice the leaflets grow one slightly higher than the next out of the stem. One pointing this way and the next to the opposite side.

Measure out and cut the stems so that you have leaves exactly where you want the stem to balance in the twigs. Remove the leaves below so that the stem can easily slip through the armature. This way the foliage support the flower stem in position. Place the stems, with the axil and leaflets pointing to either side, the petiole nestled flat along the armature and the stem straight up in the middle. Nestle the first leaflets deeper and then rest the opposite leaflets for balance. It looks effortlessly.... but actually it is just paying attention to the way the leaves settle on the twigs. There is a video to show you exactly what I mean in the Tutorial this week and I will show you another version again tomorrow on Instagram

This way the flower comfortably but securely dangles between the twigs in the armature supporting itself exactly where you want to place it.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
