On my online workbook this week: Fall-a-la-lah!

Dear

This week's inspiration is transitioning into early Christmas designs with elements that still complement the Autumn aesthetic.

My tip for you this week seems a simple one… but it will make your life so much easier.

Using a double vase is such a design technique staple and can add so much to your creative options. It is well worth investing in vases that comfortably nestles into one another. One tip though… look for a few vases with heavier bases. Even better if they have a heavy base without looking like they have a heavy base. See the picture above.

When you fill the larger of the two vases with water with the smaller vase inside it will start to float. You will either have to weigh it down with something (for instance pebbles) but that can spoil the clean look you want to achieve by using the double vase technique in the first place or simply let it float.

A slightly heavier base vase will anchor the design without any need for additional “clutter” that visually distracts or having to compensate for how the vase slosh around in the middle if unsupported.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
