Dear

This week’s inspiration is moving pictures.

Boutstix Magnet Stix asked me to do a few promotional designs for them and I am so excited to share our first "Getting creative with Boutstix Magnet Stix video: Succulent and Air Plant Boutonniere" with you. The videos will form part of a design inspiration series shown on floral supply/sundries/wholesalers websites.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine

Design Inspiration Video: Take a few twigs, snippets of air plants and succulents and combine both traditional wire and tape techniques with more contemporary methods to embed a Boutstix Magnet Stix right into the foundation of the design for a strong and secure way to attach corsages and boutonnieres.

Trend Alert

Cans are taking over from ball jars as the recycling go-to item. Wash and fill with flowers (some designers left the labels on to emphasize the design themes) or fill the can with water, freeze till solid and punch holes into it, defrost and place a candle into it to hang as a lantern.

From the moment images of the Luxembourg royal wedding of Prince Guillaume and Countess Stephanie de Lannoy was shown, lace became the "it" design texture. Not a pristine and delicate kind of lace but rather a rougher lace that lies somewhere between "rustic" and "vintage".

Design Note: To give new lace an instant vintage look, you can wash it in strong tea and carefully roughen it by sanding it with an emery board or fine sanding paper.
