On my online workbook this week: Column… try it flower buddies

Dear

This week's inspiration is seeking shelter from the summer heat.

The tip for you this week is to measure before cutting the curve over the design shorter. You will need longer blades of grass than what you might expect.

The grass curving over the design needs to be long enough to firmly “kick” against both sides of the container so that it remains perfectly upright between the woven sections and also tall enough so that it curves at the same height over the design.

The easiest way to do this is to measure so that the tip of the grass will fit comfortably inside the vase and the firmest part of the grass rests on the bottom of the container. Simply place the grass into the container until the firm end touches the bottom. Curve the tip over and insert it in between the woven grass sections. Thread the grass into the container until it shapes a neat curve. Place the entire row of grass… and once they are in place turn the container so that the grass curve can be viewed down into the side like a tunnel.

Now gently tap the grass on the curve or below the curve with your finger to adjust the height so that they are all neatly inline.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
