On my online workbook this week: Bring in some of the magic of summer rain

Dear

This week's inspiration is celebrating even the smallest drops of summer rain.

My tip for you this week is if you struggle with adding the tiniest drop of glue on the stem of the grass seed (pedunculated branch). It is fine and delicate work! And the dangling grass draws so much attention that you absolutely need to take care to add the smallest amount of glue possible.

Dip the stem in floral glue to just, just coat the stem. Set it aside for the glue to dry. Dip the tiny branch in glue again this time to gather a second layer of glue that is now strengthened by the first layer. The glue sticks best to… itself! Creating a second layer is the absolute fastest way to get the build up the smallest amount of glue on the finest of details.

… which, just for interest, is also the fastest way to remove floral glue. Dip a bamboo skewer (like a toothpick) in the floral glue. Set it aside for a few seconds to become tacky but no longer sticky and use the skewer to lift away any glue spills. It works so well! Even on the most delicate of petals.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
