On my online workbook this week: And now we wait

Dear

This week's inspiration is a bit of floral crafting… I have received so many emails last week mentioning that you are also struggling to find flowers at the moment. Any fun tips to share with me for how you are working around this shortage?

The shortage is definitely inspiring us to get creative!

I made these Coffee filter Blossoms because I wanted to add a delicate stem facing downwards as a contrast to my tall blossoming stem. I was thinking of creating an effect like a reflection on water. Of course fresh blossoms will not last when placed like this out of water… and a water tube would rather spoil the effect. So I made these. If you have not made flowers with coffee filter paper try it. You get unbelievable results. I have quite a few types of paper flowers instructions for you... and another much easier and quicker blossom tutorial as well if you would like to try. The link is below the post on my website.

My tip for you this week is what to do, if you wanted to add the paper flowers into the design with the stem end in the water. My advice is to insert the paper stem end into a plastic straw or thin plastic tube or pipe to extend the stem end and to keep it well above the water to keep it from rotting. You can even extend the wire slightly into the straw so that you can reposition it.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
