On my online workbook this week: …. Aaaaaand tick!
Dear
This week's inspiration is finding a gap where you fit perfectly.
My tip for you this week is about finding natural gaps and hooks and ways to position floral details.
When you gently lift up the lily petal there is a gap where you can slip the anemone stem through the petals. The fit will be tight so the anemone stem will be at a slight angle. Position the stem, and craft the design, to work with this angle. Start off by positioning the lily to sit at a slight angle. You will find that the sepal (looks like the petal but is part of the outer ring of the flower) is more curved than the petal. Hook this sepal over the vase edge to keep the flower in place. Then when you slip the anemone between a sepal and a petal, also at an angle, it appears to be sitting upright and you can even adjust the flower to rest slightly above the petals.
Make sure to slip the anemone into the lily there where the petals and sepals are still green-ish in colour and firm enough to support the flower and robust enough not to get damaged.
Enjoy!
Every good wish,
Christine
