On my online workbook this week: A scoop of pretty

Dear

This week's inspiration is defrosting.

My tip for you this week is to pass up on easy and find a more natural solution.

Yes… no. No, you can’t.

I wanted to say yes you can probably staple it into place but honestly no, please don’t. If there is, and there almost always is, use the most natural solution to solve your design problem. Finding a twig to pin or a rock to hold something down or a leaf to tie. It creates interest… and that in turn creates value. Choosing the right techniques to craft a design not only effects the personality of your design but it also sends a message of who you are as a designer. What do you stand for?

A staple looks horrible. And lazy. And you probably will have to conceal it in some way.

Your work is more valuable if the onlooker can find clever little touches that makes it clear that you put thought into creating your designs. And you always earn extra points if your solution is natural.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
