Dear

This week’s inspiration is blossoms and bunnies and baskets and bonnets and buns... and brooms.

It’s spring here in beautiful Vancouver and time for the Blossom Festival, Easter and Spring Cleaning.

I am a bit of a squirrel when it comes to saving any “treasures” that I can possibly use in future design projects. I was spring cleaning my design room when I rediscovered a box filled with snippets of newsprint paper and a few leftover pieces of Kyogi paper. Together they make quite an interesting design combination, so glad I saved it!

Happy Easter and Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine

ps: This weeks design is also featured in the spring inspiration section of the DIY Weddings Magazine

Spring Clean

A clean Easter design. The tiny blossoms are Kalanchoe 'Calandiva Pink'. Tucked low in the paper eggs are a few Cymbidium orchids and the twigs are contorted hazel. The feathers are made from Kyogi or shaved wood.

Trend Alert

Vancouver’s nearly 40,000 cherry trees are beginning to blossom. Have a look: Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival

White vases are really popular right now. From milky white porcelain (for the northern hemisphere going into summer) to frosted white sandblasted glass (for southern hemisphere moving into winter). Even a 70’s inspired plant in a white pot is right on trend.
