On my online workbook this week: On to something here

Dear

This week’s inspiration is the way January just somehow stacked up day after day… and now it’s almost February!

My design note for you this week is about handling small bits of grass with glue on. I found that the fastest way (and the least messy way) is to dot two drops of glue onto the cut snippet of grass. Let that get tacky for a few seconds. Lift the grass on the ends (see the pictures above) and lightly drop it into the design to rest on the already placed snippets.

Keep your fingers away from the glue or it becomes a sticky mess quite quickly. Or better yet let the glue become tacky before handling the small snippet of grass.

Here is how I do that: work with three snippets at a time. Place them on a flat working surface. Add the dots of glue to the three snippets and go back and place the first one. If you add glue to 3 snippets at a time it takes just about the same amount of time for the glue to get tacky as what it takes to place them.

So, cut, cut, cut, glue, glue, glue, place, place, place. Such a convenient way to time the glue, right?

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
