On my online workbook this week: Make Believe

Dear

This week's inspiration is … making what is needed… into exactly what is needed.

Absolutes are so hard to deal with as an overthinking designer. Never must you ever let your glue show? Well, it’s not always a mistake- if you overdo it deliberately.

You see, this worked out… urhmmm… I mean I totally planned this… perfectly! I needed a tiny but still a bit too generous drop of glue (placed so that the “petals” can lean away from the twig stamens to open them up) but that meant that it would show through the “petals” of the eucalyptus blossoms when I placed them the way I wanted them.

Turns out, when looked at from above the glue drops mirrors the drops of water that reflects through the leaves. It actually connects the whole design for me.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine

Eucalyptus leaf and twig blossoms in a radiating puddle of stems

Just look at that puddle! This design is all about the fresh eucalyptus... but in a cooling down for summer kind of way.
