On my online workbook this week: Just about enough space

Dear

This week's inspiration is creating space for what we love. Flower buddies... I have been really busy the last few years with a massive surprise for you. And I am…. about… this…close… to being able to share it!

My tip for you is about fitting a small bundle of tiny stems through the gap… quickly. But most importantly without standing the risk of poking a hole or damaging the arum lily leaves

No you do not have to do this. You can easily just slip the stems into the gap one by one. I just found that if you get the basic shape of the stem bundle right, slip them all through in one go… and then fill in the design details to correct the height and support it is so much easier.

Gather the bundle more or less in the way you want them in the vase. Take the stems all the way to the cut ends with florist tape (see the picture above). Slip it through the space between the two leaves and remove the tape. Now the entire bundle is kept together by the two leaves.

Give the stems a twist. This spirals them out to stand firmly in the vase and finish the design.

So much easier, right? Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
