On my online workbook this week: Giving a nod

Dear

This week's inspiration is that lovely time between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Do you put out any new decorations? Or have you taken down your Christmas tree already?

I like to add a few winter touches around the apartment... and remove a few Christmas decorations to start packing away so that it is a slow de-twinkling process rather than going cold turkey early January. These scatter twigs are ideal for that.

My tip for this week is a quick one: To dry the rosehips I simply placed them in silica. Keeping the hips out of direct sunlight will help them retain their color. And keeping the thin stems on gives you stem curves and twists to help add personality and character to the designs. The drying process will take about two to three weeks. I find that they are less wrinkly dried in the gel but if that is not a deal breaker for your design, you can also dry them hanging upside down or in an oven at the lowest setting.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
