My inspiration is that first gentle drift of early autumn leaves.

My design note for you is to glue the tiny three legged stilts that we rest the seedpods on only on the top.

The lace fine Japanese Maple leaf grid is (of course) an illusion. It can and will not support your heavy floral details.

Most of the details stand upright in the water and only gently, gently lean against the leaves.

The seedpods needed more support so I crafted stem pedestals for those. Because I want the cut stems for the pedestals to remain firm and green and hydrated they will stand in the water. You can use thicker stems that can support the seedpods and will firmly stand on their own but I find that a three legged “armature” or tripod always stand more firmly than a one legged one (I have a Tutorial for you below the post to explain this in more detail).

Connect the three stems to become the robust pedestals for the seedpods. Yes, I can tape or wire the stems to connect them but this will be visible through the lace fine Japanese Maple grid-veil. And so I decided to use glue.

Only glue the top part (see the picture above) of the stems, however, because most glues will come unstuck when soaked in water and you do not want the pedestals to become unstuck.
