On my online workbook this week: Do you know what the point is?

Dear

This week's inspiration is … the point and the point is to make an effort so that I have something nice to share with you... every single week.

My tip for you this week is about making a connection. After I added the sweet peas to the bark armature I felt it looked like two designs being bullied to get along. I needed something to connect it. Something like adding lime green to the sweet peas or darker green or blue to the lime green reindeer moss. Something.

I opted for a less obvious solution… adding dried roots to the bark. This took my favourite thing about sweet peas, the tendrils, and made them the connection point. The fine tendril-like brown roots softened the bark armature, toned down some of the lime green moss… and highlighted the ethereal quality of the tendrils.

If you are looking for a design element to connect your flowers and your armature make sure you do not add more of what is not quite your favourite (in this case how bright green the reindeer moss looked). It might seem obvious but add more of what you already love.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine
