On my online workbook this week

Dear

I spend a lot of my time developing and thinking about floral craftsmanship and design skills and was ecstatic when the Canadian Florist Magazine invited me to be part of their New Year to Valentine's issue and write an article about a theme that means so much to me.

I usually post my new design on Wednesdays so you might have noticed that this weeks design has been on My Workbook since the weekend. This was to coincide with the posting of the Canadian Florist Magazine online edition. I wanted to make sure everyone reading the magazine could see the tutorial when visiting My Workbook,

Next weeks design will be up on Wednesday, as usual.

Enjoy!

Every good wish,

Christine

Trend Alert

Skills development and design techniques will be a hot topic this coming year. In the same issue of Canadian Florist Magazine Hitomi Gilliam said "We need to innovate and not simply follow trendsetters we need to set our own trends. It's a time when our skills as designers will set us apart" read the full article here.

The trend for floral fashion continues to capture the interest of floral artists and many shows now include at least one section with some sort of floral fashion class or fashion runway show. Here are a few pictures of the Christmas eve fashion runway show "Style 'n' Fashion Christmas Night" in Moscow, Russia where Araik Galstyan, Tomas De Bruyne and Natalia Zizko displayed their design skills.
