On my online workbook this week: Coppepeppepepper wreath
Dear
This week's inspiration is bursting with autumn colour.
Last week we perked up the stems… this week we let it curve to emphasize how lush and heavy the berries are.
My tip for you this week is all about gluing in the most delicate design details… or more specifically how to remove any design details that are maybe not completely perfect. Short answer: Cut them out rather than ripping, peeling or tearing. Even if the stems have just the tiniest of drops of glue on and even if those stems are so fragile when placed they have quite a hold once placed and can easily destroy your design by ripping away the details next to it if you pull the leaf to remove.
The best scissors to use are these really sharp, really small ones. If you struggle to find any you can stock up on scissors you find in a manicure kit or embroidery scissors. They are strong and small enough to be positioned in tiny spaces to snip away just where the glue meets the stem of any detail you no longer want.
Also practice how to pick up leaves and small twigs with your scissors (like you would with a tweezer). It is really a great skill to master and will save you when you are in a tight design spot.
Enjoy!
Every good wish,
Christine
